Anodizing or Cerakote..

I have an 80 percent lower that I want to use for an FDE build. But other than the slight difference in price I'm not sure what is the difference between the two.
Can anybody recommend between the two? Also is there one here in the IE that do either Cerakote or FDE anodizing?
I also have 2 stripped upper and 2 stripped lowers I'd like to get either Cerakote or anodized in the specific FDE color?

Cerakote is self lubricating. I'd go that route.

Thanks for the advise. I actually just came up with this just now... I think Ill anodize the 80 then get my two stripped lower and upper Cerakote and see which one of the two are better for the long haul.

Been hearing a lot of good things about that Brent fellow that does AR build parties and from the looks of all the other members that got their 80 finished looks like theyre a solid company to work with. This is my first 80 build and I'm scared as hell to ruin my lower considering the price of 80 percent lower and availability right now.

Cerakote isnt self lubricating! Otherwise my shotguns and 1911 wouldnt need lube! Some types of cerakote are self lubing, such as microslick.

If you're up here in N. Ca. I recommend Sam (sjm9877) for cerakote.

He cerakoted my upper, lower and rail in FDE. It's an almost perfect match.
You can go to his thread here and I have a couple pictures posted there if you want to see how close the coating and Magpul furniture match.

I received a quote for a single color at qnty 2 discount, it was $80 for upper, lower, extension, plate & nut. Add $40 for a 13" Troy rail, Add $30 for a barrel (I think). So $150 for a complete gun. I haven't had a chance to use them, but It sounds like a decent lead; they look like they have many years experience.
