ar 7.62x39 not loading/bolt not closing PLEASE HELP

Like the title says, I have a 7.62x39 pistol upper I just purchased complete a couple days ago from a fellow cgn'er who ive purchased a complete upper from before. My problem is is that my 7.62 upper will not load my rounds all the way, I can see my bolt not all the way in, when I pull latch after to unload it the bullet doesn't want to come out with it I have to point rifle upwards to let bullet fall out, I haven't fired it yet because i figured this was a problem and i didnt want to make it worst. I believe my lower is just fjne because I attached another upper to it and it works just fine. I don't thknk its my mags as I tried to do it manually as well with no luck. Everything seems to be assembled well enough but I can't figure out problem, anybody with any insight pleasr Lmk

Contact the person you bought it from.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
    I'm Back.

Take the upper off and the bolt out. See if a round goes into the breech all the way. Also check that it fits into the front of the bolt so the extractor grabs the rim. Does the bolt go all the way foreward without a round in it?
          Because milsurp.

Bolt goes all the way forward when there's no bullet, the bottom of the round does fit into the bolt but with a lot of pressure, it only needs half of the pressure when I tried it with my 556 bolt and round. The bolt won't even close all the way when i put a 223 in there, the hole of the barrel is clearly a lot bigger than a 556 hole but they seem to stop at the same place about just under a quarter of an inch from the bottom of the bullet, I pushed down the bolt by hand with a lot of pressure with live round in barrel with upper off of lower obviously, and it will not go in all the way for the life of me.

I thought the same maybe but a 556 won't even go all the way in, and the bolt looks like a 7.62 bolt and barrel does as well but I could be wrong. Any ar specialists in sac wanna make some change?

I just spoke with seller who is a really good guy as I said ive done business with him before and he thinks it may be a headspacing problem and is going to take it back to fix for me ASAP. Which I highly appreciate cause I'd hate to do something dumb and ruin the whole upper in itself.

Bolt extractor spring may have one of those o-rings. Remove the o-ring and try again to see if the shell would fit onto the bolt easier.

been there done this... the chamfer on the front of the extractor does not get around the rim. Take it off, dremel it a bit, and try it again. Might have to do the bolt also... create a little funnel in the bolt face.
