I'm going to engrave name/location/serial number on some 7075-T6 AR15 projects using a Tormach PCNC 1100 (max spindle speed 5500 RPM).
While a single flute engraving cutter is the obvious solution, that covers a _lot_ of ground (30-90 degree included angle, .001 - .100 tip width).
I think I'm aiming for 1/8 - 1/4" high letters and numbers
Suggestions on tool and feed rate?
Am I likely to be happy assuming a .106" drop from front cheek to fire control surface or do I want to reset z-zero and engrave the areas with separate programs?
.005" deep to allow for hard anodizing or do I want to go deeper?
