    AR selector fit?

After installing the hammer and spring I can't get the selector in because the back of the trigger rides too high. Without the hammer in, it fits fine. What's up? A badly fitting hammer/trigger or....

Cock the hammer and try it again.

I always install selector first. Probably why I never had the problem.

Thanks, I cocked the hammer and that doesn't get the trigger bar low enough. Tried the hammer last and it is so snug at the front the hammer won't release when I cock it - I have to drive the pin out to release it.

That happened to my last lower build. There isn't a problem, it will fit, you just have to wiggle it around. Worst case is take the trigger parts out, install the selector (most, if not all of the way)and re install trigger parts.

Yep hammer in last. I do trigger, selector, then hammer.

For my last build, I had to go in this order: selector, trigger, and hammer.
And this time around, the process was particularly difficult because I was installing these components in conjunction to the KNS Anti-Rotational Pins.. I would rather drive a roll-pin into the bolt catch than to do that again

What seems to be happening is the trigger/disconnector fit and work well with the selector UNTIL the hammer is installed. At that point, the rear of the trigger is pressed upward just above the bottom of the hole for the selector thus reducing the amount of travel for the trigger to release the hammer. Without the selector, the hammer, trigger and disconnector work well as it should, but the rear of the trigger is too high.

The hammer is pressing down on the front of the trigger when installed. I took the offending hammer assy and put it in another lower that I know works and it functions well. SO, I am looking at an out of spec trigger..Tonight I will have to dissassemble my good lower and match them up....

Sounds like your trigger holes are a little high. Hopefully not...

Jason, you said what I don't want to think! Either the holes are off (not likely as the lower is a S&W) or the trigger is too long on the front end...

which trigger or lpk? When you cock the hammer, does the trigger drop slightly or not at all? Is your spring installed correctly on the trigger? Being S&W like you said, yes unlikely that your holes are off.
