    Super Glue

Anyone know what the name of that
    SUPER DUPER glue that
    is sold at gunshows.

The one where the guy cuts a fan belt and glues it

    This is why...

One of my dedicated .22lr mags died.

even my cat was mocking me.

    Rifle jammed...
Pulled back CH and it spat out whatever ammo was left
    in to the upper.

    Follower went who knows where.

    Busted it feed lip.

Im sure its warrenty but why should I even bother.
    Rebuild kit..Sure.
    But not at todays prices.
Ill wait for BDs latest and greatest upgrade to repair this one.

The best super glue I've ever used has been from Tower Hobby. They have quick dry, slow dry, gap filling, flexible, the works! Keep it in the fridge when your done. Lasts for years.

plastics typically "glue" best with solvent cements which work by melting the plastic into itself and the solvent cement evaporates out leaving nothing behind, unlike a glue. most gun cleaning solvents will destroy a lot of plastics that can be solvent welded therefore they dont use them on gun parts.

the common types of plastics that are used for gun related parts are solvent resistant and usually dont glue very well if at all. take some pvc or abs pipe cement and put a drop of it on the mag somewhere. if it doesnt do anything and just wipes off after it dried the part most likely cant be glued.

if it melts into the mag and leaves a mark then you most likely found the best glue for it.

i love how everyone just assumes it plastics so has to be glueable.

Rebuilding is an option but not at these prices.

last year I saw this LIVE Infomercial with a new super duper
glue invented by nasa that glues just about anything.

I thought about PVC glue but I dont know what type of palstic
          it is.

            This^

If it is under warranty, that is the way to go.
Never had good luck repairing small plastic
            parts that took stress.

If it is "super duper" and from a gun show, odds are it is just snake oil, but YMMV!

The guy at shows is www.utopiatools.com. 1625 N. El Camino Real, Ste. A
San Clemente, Ca. 92672. 949-369-0994. The thin glue he uses is not diluted out like the superglue in stores. I've had good luck with it on some plastics, bad with others. Test to make sure. Don't buy the thick stuff he has, doesn't work very good. Has shelf life of about 2 years if you keep in fridge.

                  Thanks.

Like I said. Probly warrenty but who knows when Ill ever see it.

With all the stupid panic buyers.

Nothing to loose with the Ninja glue.

At the very worst. Another rebuild kit to fix this.

The one they sell at the gun show is the same as the CA glue you find at your local hobby shop that specialized in balsa wood constructed airplane. CA glue come in different viscosity, thin like water, medium, thick like honey. Rubberied CA is also available.

If the piece you broke is made of ABS, it may be best to use plastic cement. Plastic cement is technicially not glue, but rather solvent. It is designed to "melt" a small amount of the ABS plastic where it's apply and allow the two piese to bond once the solvent is evorporated. This is also available in your local hobby shop.

Ok for one the mag appears to be glass reinforced nylon. Good luck finding a solvent based glue for that.

Best bet.. Locktite blackmax. It's a reinforced CA adhesive very strong stuff.

I have not once been able to get Gorilla glue to even stick to itself let alone wood, paper etc... Another vote for CA glue. That stuff works great and you can get a spray to make it cure instantly.

it's available online. I usually get it from Mcmaster Carr.

It worth the shot as I've used this stuff in the machine shop for years and if you need to take something apart the was assembled with it. Well if it's not metal you're going to break it getting it apart. This is a CA based glue but it's different. Very strong and durable
