    Removing a flash hider

I just got a PWS30 break and need some advice. I have been searching for a rubber barrel clamp that fits in my vise and have only found hard plastic ones. I've seen the videos of guys putting a barrel in a vise with rags wrapped around it ( really...). Do any of you have any tried and true methods for removing the hider without using a 30 dollar plastic clamp.

    Thanks for any advice

I use a receiver clamp, the folding clamshell with fake bcg to support it, works as it should, see youtube for videos

Get yourself a couple chunks of white oak scrap and use those in a vice. Make sure you have the grain running at a right angle to the barrel.

Yes you use a rag. I use a piece of vinyl material. I have aluminum vise blocks. The aluminum leaves silver marks on the barrel. Bolt action barrel vises usually use a hardwood. Just Google barrel vises.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Thanks for the advice. It's a 300 blackout. CMMG upper with 15 inch rail. JB lower with a geissele SSA-E (love that trigger). Fun to shoot when I can find ammo for less than 30 bucks a round....
