    need help w/ kids gun

So I have a extra ruger 10/22 stock and I would like to know how to go about cutting it down to properly fit my daughters grip . This will be twice as nice because I also have twin boys who will eventually use this as well. I'm pretty good with tools so that's not a problem but just trying to see if anyone has done this or has any good pointers. She's excited to go shooting with daddy but can't till she gets the rules down first. And has a stock to fit. I should mention this is only going to be for target practice and bench shooting.

Just cutting off the ends of the stock wont make a great youth stock. You will also need to add some material to the pistol grip area to move her grip forward. If you are going to paint the stock you can form a pretty good grip with Bondo and then file to shape. Try gripping a Cricket or even a Daisy BB gun that are made for kids hands for what this will feel like. This is time consuming but worth it in the end. Good luck DR

Its not just length of pull, it seems youth models offer a smaller grip as well.
