    Barrel Fluting \ Dimpling Services?

Anyone know of anyone offering barrel fluting in San Diego? I have a Whit Oak in SS in route and it looks like it could stand to lose 4oz and gain some "pretty" via fluting or dimpling. Recomendations for a shipping solution would be fine as well; just trying to keep it local if possible and save a few bucks in shipping cost.

I ordered my WOA 16" Match Carbine Barrel from Brownells last week. They shipped it the next day. Due at mine on Wednesday. It's the 16" SS, carbine gas, Medium/Match profile, 1/7, Wylde chamber. I would have preferred one of Raniers version of the WOA, but in today's market, a stock WOA for $260 seems like a deal!

Shop rifle parts (2,344) at Brownells, including barrels, stocks, triggers, and bolt carriers to customize, repair, or upgrade your rifle’s performance.

I'll have a 16" stainless bull barrel if you're looking for a test subject.

I have a mill, 4th axis and have worked with barrels. Haven't done any fluting on a barrel yet though. How deep can it safely go? Or should I say, how thin can the barrel safely be at the minor of the flute? I have a 6.5" and 14.5" I can test it out on.

Hmm... I'm guessing that is a closely held trade secret!

FYI, I contacted Randall @AR15Barrels first on this issue before I even posted. I know who to turn to for barrel services first! Well, I'm not getting much in the way of response on this question. If it keeps going like this, maybe Randall will end up getting this fluting job this summer anyway!
