G3 build help

[CIV Tactical]

I have been moving forward with my G3 project and I am confused on the welding of the shelf. Do I cut the receiver and weld the shelf or do I fit the shelf to the receiver for the trigger pack fit. My wedge seems to be wider than the receiver section there to. Do I fill the gaps on the sides. I want to keep the polymer housing original and I do not want to cut the ears off. Any info would greatly help.

this is a ptr 91 flat that i folded and welded and what not. everything is ready to install its just i never built one and have no hands on help. this shelf area had me confused but i think i know what to do.
