I think I would only do this in a SHTF scenario after seeing that link. Don't want to ruin my coffee maker, then S could really hit the fan..

There are battery chargers specifically designed to safely recharge regular batteries. I've used the one linked here and with regular batteries there have been mixed results with recharging but overall it works fine.

Nice even with $5 shipping on 12 its still cheaper then surefire.. I never thought about ordering them online until I stumbled across it on here.. I just always thought they were just expensive batteries.. . Although they last me for a long time.. it sucks when they go dead and you're in the boonies.. not a normally stocked battery at the beach store.

This is bad advice. When, not if, a lithium cell cooks off in your house, it will spew toxic lithium all over and possibly start a fire.

I buy two or three boxes at a time. They work just as well and if not better than Surefire's brand.

$1 per battery and I don't have to worry about recharging the thing and the possibility of it exploding.

If you try to charge these, put the batteries in a ceramic flower pot.

I used to fly electric RC planes and this is how I store/charge my lithium batteries.

Interesting info, what are the specs of the charger? If your charging 8hrs what is the cost to recharge vs buying new.

With the penalty rates these days from the electric company would be interested to see how it specs out.
