    80% milled..protect the inside?

    hey all

i got one of my 80%'s milled. the out side was already anodized black. the inside is all raw aluminum.

do i need to paint/protect the inside? If so, what do you guys recommend?

    Thanks.

You dont have to. But there are plenty of options out there.

I have a couple lowers two years old with nothing on them, they are fine!

You are good to go. No need to do much on the insides.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Rattle can. Bake it at 300 for one hour. Cool down. Repeat 3 times. Then try and scratch it off. Cause you cant.

If you wanted to, you can use a chromate conversion coating, commercially known as alodine to the inside pocket.
It also promotes improved adhesion for coatings

I think raw Aluminum will quickly form a coating of Aluminum Oxide that is a hard layer you may not be able to see. Unless you get something corrosive in there, I doubt you would ever have an issue.
