    Lin-speed gunstock (finishing) oil

Does anyone have any unopened containers that they would sell me? Thanks.

You can find boiled linseed oil at Home Depot or Lowes in the paint department. Most Wal Marts will also carry it.

Finishes in half the time as plain old linseed oil.

Try Ace Hardware also... they always has linseed oil in stock.

Your best bet would be to check the gun shows. You probably know that Brownell's and Midway sell it, but it can't be shipped to California.

You can speed up the soak time for linseed oil by mixing it with a thinner oil like lemon oil. It will penetrate into the wood much faster. I've used this on unfinished guitar necks and rifle stocks with good results. I normally go with around 2 parts linseed oil to 1 part lemon oil. After letting it soak in for a few hours, rub off the oil left on the surface and then apply a coat of straight linseed oil as a sealer. Let it sit another hour and then wipe off.

                Yes, I've tried linseed oil

but the beauty of Lin-speed is it's filling ability; when it gets to that gummy stage during rubbing, that's when it fills...nothing else I've tried fills OR will take a stock to an almost glassy look and texture. Well, I think that gunshows are the only remaining answer. Thanks guys!

Okay, so there IS such a thing as "Lin-Speed" oil.
But, why oh why won't they ship to CA??!

As I recall you can't get tru-oil in CA anymore either. We have a bunch of stupid *** laws regarding wood finishing products and paint(had 'em for years now actually, but periodically they get worse).

Well yeah there's still a few places you can get it(only because it seems that CA doesn't go after the retailers, yet.), however if you do some google searching you tend to find posts like these come up a lot: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/finely-fi...ity-calif.html

                            And then there's BC's own website: http://sport.birchwoodcasey.com/Fini...2-5b1b8a3f180e

And yes, it is a reality that many wood finishing and painting products have been banned in CA. Hell, this state has a roster for water filters http://www.cdph.ca.gov/certlic/devic...Directory.aspx
