You can touch up any marks on your receiver with Alumablack.

Any tips on a good file? I bought some punches from OSH to put it together, since when does a high carbon punch bend when driving a roll pin in?

Untreated aluminum does corrode - that is why it is commonly Alodyned.

You can take the tip (not the ink cartridge tip) off a clicker ballpoint pen to align the pin in the hole then you can use a larger size punch that fits in the pen tip and just smartly push the pin in the hole to start it without a hammer, or you can do it the harder way and use a needle nose vise grip and gently tap it in with a plastic head hammer. These 2 ways you wont damage the finish. Don,t put duct tape on a steel hammer head it does not work. Tape up that whole side of the lower around that hole and you should not have a problem.

Have you checked the parts for flashing/burrs?

Filing is time consuming...I had a tight bolt catch also...just brought out the dremel tool and used a rough sandpaper disk to thin down my bolt catch. It went relatively easy and quick. All I have to do is get to my buddy's house this weekend to use his bluing solution to cover the shiny metal.

I misread it as bluing or parkerizing the lower.

                              I had the same problem.

I just replaced the bolt catch with another bolt catch from another LPK I had sitting around.
