    Win. Model 12 Difficulty Cycling

    I love this gun, so I would appreciate help in fixing a problem that she's having. After firing, the spent hull is difficult to extract, to the point of needing to give the butt a little bump on the ground. Here is some more info:
    -The chamber is clean.
    -There is no problem cycling unfired rounds.
    -I've recently replaced the extractors and springs.
    -This problem occurs with high and low base shells.
    -She's about 90 years old and she has not sat still. I've taken hundreds of pheasants with her in the 20 years I've had her and she was well used when I she came to be mine.
    -I'm afraid that the chamber is out of spec, but don't have a gauge to check it. Though I'm not sure that I would be able to bring myself to check it...

    Any thoughts?

    Hard extraction would not be a worn chamber problem.The looser the chamber the easier the extraction so forget that.
    What size chamber is stamped on the barrel? and what size ammo are you using?
    I can shoot 3 inch ammo in my 2-3/4 chamber if I want hard extraction.
    Have you tried different brands of ammo?
    The slide on these will wear with time and if you twist the forend alot they will bind up.
    The reason I don't think that is your problem is you said it slides freely when empty.

      If it is not unlocking;
      ~ Check for a bent or damaged Action Slide Lock.
      ~ Lower Action Slide Lock Spring is broken.
      ~ Firing Pin Retractor is binding.

      If it is hard to open, or extract;
      ~ RH Extractor is broken, or dull.
      ~ Too much headspace.
      ~ Extractor cuts in chamber ring are damaged.
