    when to parkerize an ak?

I am going to build up my ca legal ak soon I would like to Parkerize the receiver and the rivets. should they be done separately or can I install the front and rear trunnion and then do the whole thing so I can have the rivets match.

    I would do it twice.
Once while the trunions are out of the receiver.
That protects the inside surfaces that won't get parked on a completely asembled gun.
Then do it again after it's assembled to get the rivets.

The factory parks the barreled receiver complete. So if you want park the receiver trunnions installed. Then press the barrel, unless you think your park is better than the factory then repark the whole thing. Do what you want. Remember its "just an AK".

That don't mean you have to build it crappy.
Parkerizing the un-finished areas before assembly is never a bad thing.

Never said how I do it just how the original manufacturer did it. Also stated do it however you want. I'd be happy to compare AK builds with you. You got me on the space guns though Cheers!

                This is not possible.
I would have to finish one first.
