So I'm prepping for my first build with the help of joe_sun, and just my luck I ran into an issue with my barrel pin. After we removed it we noticed significant galling within the front trunion and there is some damage to the pin. I'm wondering what I should do? Should I drill out the hole to remove the excess metal? Is the pin ok to use when I put it back together? Should I purchase a new pin? If any builders with more experience could lend me their wisdom I'd really appreciate it. I took the following pictures so that you could see the issue, I circled the metal in question. Much thanks in advance.

AK Build - Barrel Pin Help/Question

Take some emery cloth and knock down the raised gall in the second picture. Just rub the first picture gall a little to smooth it out. You do not want to take off much, if any, metal on that pin. It sets the headspace. Line it up like it came out when you repress and you will be fine. Maybe a dab of Never Seize to help the repress along. But don't lose any sleep over the galling, it's just an AK. -
Correction: Its just a Romanian G.Originally posted by ChrisOMy solar tac grip wrap just slides off if I pull on it... I can tighten it down as much as I can and it will still slide off. I got it for a regular AK PG and it's on a standard romanian bakelite I think PG... What should I do? I kept the mag lock installed just in case this would happen...
