    cerakoting g10

    Anyone every tried to cerakote g10 material? I have a new to me 1911 that id like to cerakote but the color scheme i want is a dark grey but i have desert warrior grips and that would just look off.

    Has anyone every tried to cerakote g10 material?
    primer, powder, projecile, press, load, fire repeat!

      The problem will be degreasing the grips. If they have been used, the chance of getting all of the oils out without damaging the grips is slim. If you don't get all the oil out, the Cerakote won't stick long term.

        I have a pair of VZ grips that were tan, my gunsmith refinished them in Graphite Black Cerakote. He cleaned them thoroughly with acetone to remove all the oil and lightly blasted the grips with aluminum oxide.The finish on the grips is holding up fine.
