    Lowering/ flaring 1911

Well, I got my first 1911 a couple of weeks ago, Springfield GI. I was very happy with it, but my only complant was that the brass ejected up and back at me. So some individuals on this board mentioned lowering/ flaring the ejection port. So, I did some research and did it on my own. Not perfect but I am happy with the results, and the gun funtions fine, and no more brass in the face.

    Looks very nice, well done.

And yes, step 1 with any USGI is to lower and flare - or wear a face protector.

That looks pretty darn good. You need to really look for any imperfections..., if there is any that is...?

Thats real sharp handy work you did there. Did you re-park it or is it another finish?

Thanks for the kind words, it didn't take as long as I thought to do it, maybe 30-40 minutes.

You can also try changing the ejector. My old mil-spec had the extended ejector and the brass was never in my face. Good job by the way the finish looks almost factory
