AR15 Forward Assist same for AR10?

I am in need of a forward assist for a JD Machine .308 upper. Would the Ar15 forward assist work/fit on it? I took the strip upper to a local gun store/manufacturer and they said it won't fit. I have never seen a forward assist for sale for the Ar10.
And if you have a spare, kindly sell it to me?

The AR308 bolt carriers I've seen doesn't have the forward assist serrations, but some claim that the design of the carrier would still allow the forward assist to work. Maybe you should just plug it with a delrin plug. I did on my DPMS upper.

According to MidwayUSA, the forward assist is the same, the spring is different.

If you can't find a forward assist, I have a spare one for the AR-15. You'll still need the spring for the 308.
