Skill level to assemble a lower

I have done a Saiga conversion using youtube videos, including threading the muzzle, and did the front end portion at a build party. Thats about the level of my gunsmithing skills.

Is assembling an AR lower more complex than that? Or considering how rare a lower is these days could I risk somehow damaging it?

Punch tools, and small hammer w/masking/painter's tape to prevent marring...

its easy, watch a vid or download instructions from ar15.com. go slow, dont force anything.

Actually I had my lady do #2... and she has issues with... ... ... regular stuff sometimes.

Requires some master skills if you ask me, when you got the glow, your feelings show, so dont let go, of the power of elevation. shine on brotha shine on...

in all seriousness, watch you tube video its not too bad. but helps to have a friend who knows how to put oine together there to help, the gri[ i had was very snug you have to force it on, be careful when hammeing in pins use somthing tpo block the lower so you dont score it.

The biggest issue is to make sure to use a block to reenforce the other side, so you don't break a trigger-guard finger ear when tapping the trigger-guard in. These break a lot from the posts I have read.

The biggest risk would probably in breaking one of the ears when installing the roll pin for the trigger guard. If the roll pin is extra tight you can slightly squeeze them with a pair of pliers so they go in with less resistance. Be careful to not deform them, but still better than breaking off an ear. Gentle taps with the hammer.

Regular pliers wrapped with tape will also work.
