I was going to send my XD 40 slide to get refinished and was wondering if i need to disassemble all the internals of the slide and just send the slide itself or do companies normally do it? if any can help with any answers i would appreciate it. or if any have sent a slide to get refinished can answer. thanks in advance.

The slide will be completely stripped down before refinishing.
It's just a matter of who does it.
If you are capable, by-all-means, do it yourself.
Then you are only paying for refinishing work, not disassembly, refinishing and reassembly.
What type of slide do you have and what type of finishing are you looking for.
I have glass bead blasted a few stainless slides and they come out really nice.Randall Rausch
