Does AR10 use the same LPK as AR15?

I jumped on the group-buy bandwagon and ordered an 80% Quinten Defense AR10. Can anyone tell me if it uses the same lower parts kit as an AR15?

    Thanks.

An AR-10 has a different bolt catch, magazine catch, takedown pin and pivot pin.

      Everything else is the same.

Mag catch is the same in any kits I have ever checked out... Just the bolt catch, front and rear take pins are different...

Hm. I have four Armalite AR-10 LPK's without lowers (I misordered but didn't really feel the need to return them). Good to know that with some different takedown pins (I prefer the YHM extended takedown pins) and a bolt catch I can use them on an AR-15 project.

Sweet. Now to shop for "improved" bolt catches!

The mag catch may look the same, but it is not.

An AR-10 part is 0.050" longer and also has a slight bend to it.

Now it is possible to use an AR-15 mag catch in an AR-10 receiver, but that doesn't change the fact that they are different and have different part numbers if you order them from ArmaLite.

Does anyone have a source for the AR-10 LPK?
Also, why doesn't the Quinten Defense web page list AR-10 receivers or lower parts kits?

I'm not positive but I think the Quentin receiver is meant for DPMS uppers and mags, meaning it's not compatible with AR-10 stuff.

I don't know where you can get a complete parts kit, I usually buy an AR-15 kit and order the extra pieces from ArmaLite.

You can buy one of my Armalite AR-10 LPK's if you'd like. I bought mine from Rainier Arms.
Rainier Arms specializes in high-end AR15 parts and accessories—including grips, stocks, uppers, lowers, barrels, and more—from the industry's top-tier manufacturers.

                  Out of stock (of course).

As an alternative, they do have other variants of the Armalite AR-10 LPK in stock

                  w/ two-stage tactical trigger:

or two stage national match trigger:

If you'd like one of mine (because you want to spend more on a better trigger from somewhere else), I'll sell one to you for Rainier Arms's price of $95 + $5 shipping. PM me if that's what you'd like.

Quentin defense is DPMS pattern. The correct question would be. Are DPMS and Armalite lpk for the .308 the same ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I agree that that is the important question for the OP.

I have heard the opposite (that the DMPS parts kit can be used in an Armalite lower). I have assumed with my offer above that my Armalite parts kit would therefore work fine in a DPMS lower (hard to understand how it wouldn't...)

Thank you for your offer, but I think more research is in order. I don't want to end up with parts I can't use in my QD lower.

Yup, I completely understand. I'm really curious about the results of your research as I hadn't planned on building an AR-10, but now that I've got the parts kits, I'm reconsidering the idea. Would be great to figure out if I can use these Armalite parts kits in either kind of lower or if I need to get an Armalite.

Armalite may do things a little different as there bolt catch is nothing (visually) like other brands and they may do the same thing on there mag catches as Amralite doesstuff different but in alot of other kits I get (both ar15 and ar308) the mag catch is in fact the same but ok...

I didn't understand any of that.

If you choose to use the wrong parts in your lowers that is fine.

The OP asked about AR-10 parts, not "ar308".

ArmaLite is the only company that makes the AR-10, I have called and talked them about this.

They say there is a difference, that's good enough for me.

You do what you want, but don't give the OP inaccurate info just because you feel like arguing.
