I has 2 stripped 80% lowers anodized and the finish came out kind of blotchy, not consistent throughout. I took them to a well known referred company to do the anodizing and specified mil spec type 3 finish in a matte black. Did I not prep them properly or something? Just does not look like a clean new factory stripped lower does. Should I try something else like cerakote maybe?

Confused
You took your lower to get anodized by a professional company but you had to do the prep???
I don't know of any good metal finishing shop that would let the customer do prep work since improper prep will greating affect quality.
Cerakote is very good stuff just find a factory certified applicator close to you.
