Sig 522 FTF

I have had my sig for couple of years and have shot many bulk ammo near 6-8,000 rds. Now all of a sudden, it had feeding problems, sometimes the 3/4 round i would pull the trigger an nothing, no light primer strike either. I replaced the recoil spring thinking it might need more force to reset the trigger. Now, every round i need to load by charging handle only. I figured so of you more familiar could please help. You may not have the same rifle, but any problem may be similar in other setups? Also the last thing i was going to do is maybe change out the spring on the hammer, but idk? Have you thourghly disassembled the firing pin assembly and cleaned out the firing pin cavity??? IF enough gunk gets in there it can prevent the firing pin from moving freely since you are not even getting primer strikes.

From what i believe, trigger does not reset.

Mine does FTF's with crappy ammo. I've been using CCI, and no issues.

mine cycled them fine at first, just trigger won't reset.

I think i need to rephrase it, the only way it cycles another round by manualy pulling the charging handle .

but can you pull the trigger freely and easily or do you have to pull extremely hard to get it to move?

If it pulls easy but does not reset it can be either a spring issues or again back to dirty gunk causing the trigger not to move to it full forward and full back positions.

yeah i have to check it the next time i have time to go to the range ima dry to load one by charging and after study whether or not it was able to fully reset the trigger , by breaking it down after that first shot but in the mean time THANKS for all the ideas, ill keep you guys posted when i get a chance, and once again thanks.
