Ideally you'd want to use the same material for filler, but regular ol er70 filler metal will be just fine. The deposited material will be plenty hard on it's own. I've repaired a number of short ejectors with my MIG welder.sigpicOriginally posted by Dr. ElkyIf your a man who wears white sunglasses, your probably a douche bagOriginally posted by CSACANNONEERI've been know to cross dress and go the other way at certain events. -
Much obliged! After welding I'd obviously heat to cherry red, quench, and heat again and allow to cool naturally, correct?I fly everywhere backwards.

I used to heat treat after welding, but don't anymore. The material is actually quite hard on it's own. Just re-shape it and you should be good to go.sigpicOriginally posted by Dr. ElkyIf your a man who wears white sunglasses, your probably a douche bagOriginally posted by CSACANNONEERI've been know to cross dress and go the other way at certain events.Comment

Also clamp a penny or use a copper welding spoon under the ejector when you weld it up. Makes the clean up a lot easier. I just did one yesterday.Cerakote and Stippling https://www.facebook.com/HammerGunWorxComment
