HK P7M8 sight install?

I am planning on replacing the faded night sights on my P7M8 my self with a universal sight tool. I've done this 2x before on my USP 45 full size and compact using the HK sight tool with no problems. Is there a certain direction the sights should be pushed out/in or a certain procedure that should be followed? 12 years ago my gunsmith tore of the new front sight off the dovetail trying to install it.
