    AK Serial??

So I'm about to sell an AK to my buddy and wondering about the Serial.

    I engraved

    "Brentwood, CA
    JP-001"

on the serial. Its not super deep and looks pretty unprofessional, but not sure if it'll work or not. Is there a way to get it redone by one of the local smiths?? Or will it pass the test at the gun shop?

You did engrave your name on it too, right? There should not be a problem with any FFL who actually knows the law. You might want to call your first choice and ask a few questions before you make the effort to try to transfer it there.

You have to engrave a name? In the sticky it just said your initials?

Yeah you're a little short there. Read that sticky again:
            - name, caliber, serial number and manufacturing location -
some also add a model #, like for example Nodak Spud
