AR Troubleshooting?

Once I had doubling, thought it was light primers on Prvi Partizan M193. Nevertheless, took the trigger apart just in case I installed the spring incorrectly. The spring was installed properly, but had 2 pieces of a blown primer fall out of the trigger assembly.

I was talking to a guy at the range the other day and I was checking out his pre-ban AR. He had the same problem with double firing. He found the cause was his charging handle was bent slightly.

but snap caps won't eject the round and push the bolt back since there isn't any gas pressure therefor the next round won't chamber. I guess you could kind of simulate it with a couple snap caps by manually pully the charging handle after pulling the trigger.

That's the idea! You should always do a system check, before you actually fire it.

In this case it was the ammo (Wolf Performance or Prvi Partizan M193), which I am told has been improved upon since.

In rare cases it can, but mostly, 5.56 is not a problem in SAAMI 223 chambers.

I always was wondering about that spring. I first used the OLL assembly guide ^^^up there at the top of the page. After all parts were laid out the 2 left were the bolt catch and the tapered trigger/disconnector spring. I was gonna ask in a post but I figured the bigger end needed to "seat" in the tiny hole. It didnt say in the guide, nor any pictures denoted where the tapered spring went. Luckily I forced the tapered big end in the trigger assembly and played around with it and the disconnector a bit before installing...Maybe someone can make an update to note about the tapered spring in the oll assembly guide up top?
