is this normal JD upper to JD lower so tight had to tap on the pin,and colors dont match whats the deal shame on JD

Mine is like that too, had to open up the front pivot pin hole on the upper... Would rather have opened up the rear takedown pin hole, but that's not where it needed to line up straight.

Tighter fit is better than looser fit. Color is more of a cosmetic thing and its beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have had this issue with my JD uppers and lowers as well to the point I had to use a plastic punch just to push out the pivot pins. I took out a rounded file and slowly filed down the pivot pin holeson the upper receiver. Now everything is good to go I've never had any problems with other brands spikes, rra, cmmg, etc.. JD machine is the only 1 I have found this problem with

Had this before on a lot of uppers. I take some high grit paper to the back pin hole on the upper and give it a 1-2 punch. You don't need to skim off much and the fit is perfect.

Edit to reflect that yes, it was on a JD upper fitting into a 80% lower that I specifically milled out a little deeper for fit.

I think that happened once already under KD.

I've built 5 JD lowers and one of them was too tight on the front pivot hole. I used a dowel with 400 grit wrapped around it to open the hole a little. No big deal.
