    magpul trigger guard

I got the roll pin in fairly easy however the set screw will not screw in for the life of me. It just begins to catch and then the hex head skips. I have done everything to try to line it up but it seems like there is such an ever slight overlap and the 1/16 hex head is too close that it does'nt grip enough get it in slightly crooked.

    sounds like you stripped it.

you needed to use cutting oil and make a half or full turn then back it out clean off debris then go another half or full turn etc. you are tapping the hole.

Well it came to me stripped then....however I just used some pliers and twisted it. It's only one threat above where it should be and is nearly flush.
Good enough I suppose nothing else I can do about it.

Push hard, and hold the bit straight- better yet, get a buddy to make sure it's going straight while you press hard and turn.

If it's really messed up, you can drill out the little bit that's stripped- just leave enough for the threads to grab inside..

Put the screw-side in first, then the rear with the roll pin.

The screw was just a hair too large for a 1/16 so it was a poor fit. In retrospect I think placing the screw in first would have had better results.
At least the rest of the assembly went smoothly my first time and with no special tools at all. Just what I had laying around.
