Set Screw?

I picked up my stripped lower today at Turner's for my first AR build. It is a Mega lower. Looks nice. Luckily, the CMMG LPK came in the mail today also. Shouldn't the LPK have all the parts needed for a lower build? Pardon my ignorance, but what is the threaded (set screw?) with the plastic looking nub on the threaded end that came in a separate plastic bag with the Mega lower?

No experience with it so it is just a guess but I have heard that mega lowers have a screw that allows you to tighten up the gap between the lower and upper if there is any. It would be my guess that is what that is.

I have 2 Mega Lowers. The Set Screw goes inside the Pistol Grip & can be adjusted up against the take down Boss, on the Upper. The Nylon Tips are holding up really well on mine, I like the Tension type.

Thanks guys. Just put my lower together tonight. Can't install the pistol grip yet as I do not have a hex wrench long enough to reach the pistol grip screw. I have a buffer tube, but need an armorer's wrench to tighten the castle nut. My first build, but much easier than I thought it would be. I have a PSA M4 upper ordered. Now I need to find a BCG and a rear stock. Won't be long.

That set screw is just another Gizmo that has no real purpose. and it doesn't tighten up the gap, it spreads it open. I never liked the wedge "drop in accurizer" and this thing is just one more thing on the rifle that was not meant to be there. The don't and can't help with accuracy
