    Color fill a lower

After reading some how tos on here, I decided to give it a whirl. Used Testors paints, some thinner, some tooth picks, cotton balls and napkins.

I really had no interest in doing this, but my buddy picked up the paints and did his, so I thought I'd try... I really like the end result!

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Anthony

Other then labeling a rifle like a toy squirt gun the result is good.

If it were any other make and model I would say its a waste, but that engraving has got to be shown off! Looks great!

Haha I know. Don't look at it and think "man, now it's not tactical...." I just look at it and laugh.

Really Nice job!! I've got the same lower and I'm about to start the color fill. I read a forum post from Spike's that they use insulin syringes in place of toothpicks, so I'll be trying that this time.

Cool man. We both looked at each other and tried to figure out who we knew that used insulin... we didn't know anyone or know where to get some syringes on the fly. The tooth pick method - dry - then wipe off the excess worked decently, but I can see how the syringes would be the cats meow. The milling grooves within the logo itself are what will give you a hard time. Other than that, just take your time and make it yours! Have fun!

Nice, I got the same lower and want to do something similar. What kind and brand of paint did you use?

We used Testors. I think they red and green were the model matters series, green was sublime green or lime

I think the the great thing about modding, is that it is the modders choice. Pretty simple. Your weapon, money, and time. Do what you want.

I personally think it is great.

Cool man thanks. This is definitely a fun one. I have other purpose built rifles, so it's great having some fun with the Spikes ones.
