How to pin a trangle side folder?

For those with triangle side folders, how did you pin the stock? Any options besides putting a weld on it?

    On what?

Many folders can be turned into non-folders by replacing the main spring in the folder mechanism with a piece of solid steel tubing of the appropriate length. You might have to do some trial and error in order to find the proper length. On some folders there will be some sort of retaining pin that is held in place by the spring. If you replace the spring with solid tubing you will have to come up with some other way to hold the pin in place. ( E-clip, safety wire, etc.)

I want to have them pinned with a piece of steel in the folding mechanism or something similar but solid to replace the spring. I think a member here did their own with a small set screw tapped into it.

Boomstick is correct. This is the best way and leaves the part unaltered and can be reversed when taken out of PRK. In short dont **** up your guns to make the gungrabbers happy.

I've got a AK74 kit here with that style stock, i plan to make a cap that goes over the button thats got a threaded hole in the center, and just run a screw through the already existing hole in the button to hold it over it.

          like this.

When you say "Triangle side folder", are you talking about the Romanian steel side folder? I found that if you don't trim the bolt short enough to clear the stock, it's actually pinned pretty effectively. However, I wouldn't rely upon an LE armorer not removing that screw "for storage", and creating an AW...
