New assemblers/builders help thread?

Hey there folks,
Been noticing (and it's hard not to) that there are a TON of new folks coming on board the forums - or googling in - who are just getting into the AR/AK platform.

I think you should start gathering all the info, organize it and keep it updated.
If its successful, it's constant additions and updates will keep if on top enough to be useful.

Been noticing (and it's hard not to) that there are a TON of new folks coming on board the forums - or googling in - who are just getting into the AR/AK platform.

Here's a thought; can we have a sticky thread for local resources (people to ask advice of, tools to borrow, garages/workshops to use) for all those folks out there who may be looking at assembling/constructing their 80%'s, stripped lowers, etc?

Dunno if we can seed the right google keywords or some other means; but I for one would love to help anyone out there who wants assistance in getting into their own EBR given the recent run of 'concerned buying'.

I figure the easier we can make it for everyone, the better we can expand our base of ownership and advocacy.

I'm in Long Beach; have assembled a few stripped lowers, have tools, a garage, and can hopefully provide some advice on the ins and outs of basic AR assembly.

I know there are lots more folks out there with a great deal more experience and skill than I have; what do you all think?

First you have to believe that everyone that googles into a forum is a good person looking for legal means to build and not on a fishing trip for houses to break into for guns. I have been approached (emailed) for assistance by many of both types over the years. My rule is that they have to have a whole lot of meaningful posts on a forum complete with photos of their projects before they are even in consideration for knowing where my shop is. I have made many good friends from lending a hand to a fellow builder but my first priority is to keep my family and property safe.
