How much accuracy do you think threading the end of a varmint barrel to attach a flash hider would decrease? If it would work at all.

You may not lose any accuracy. What may happen is the harmonics of your barrel can change, for either better or worse. If you're content with the groups you're shooting now, then I'd suggest not to mess with it.

Good idea....I may just get another upper...A 50/50 chance my barrel will become more accurate or inaccurate, is not worth it...Just thought I would ask...Thanks....

It's not going to become inaccurate, that's just ridiculous.

Any disruption to harmonics (if you're using a heavy or bull barrel there ain't much anyways) will be offset by the reduction in recoil.

Your follow-up speed and accuracy will improve.

+1 and the brake helps to protect the crown, too.

This is often the case.
I have threaded hundreds of barrels and never had a single complaint about accuracy getting worse.
I have had lots of people mention accuracy getting better and I attribute it to them having a poor crown before I threaded and re-crowned the barrel.

Something to note, some other shops don't automatically re-crown after threading so make sure who-ever does your barrel also crowns it.
