I'm going to throw my noob card out there and hope I don't get yelled at too much.

I put my DD M4V3 lower and upper back together tonight, racked it and realized I forgot to put the buffer spring back in. Had to coax the BCG back out of the buffer tube. Replaced the spring and tried it again. Everything feels OK but I just wanted to ask if there's anything else I should check in case I broke something.

I'm not sure what a full function check consists of but I can rack it back release the bolt and repeat. Is there something else I should be doing that doesn't involve live ammo?

Look up full function test. for an AR

but not really need just good practice. and an added measure of safety.

But you should be good to go. no issues no damage.

Next time you do this don't be afraid to bang the muzzle on the carpet.
