    Recoil pad material

Anyone know where I can find the actual material used to make recoil pads?

I need to come up with a stock extension of about 2.5 inches for my project, and I am on a budget and can't drop 80 bucks on grind to fit limb savers to glue together right now. Any clues on where I can find some cheap think rubberized material that I can cut to fit?

Couldn't you make 2" of the extension of wood, plastic, aluminum, whatever; and then put the recoil pad on that? I've seen rubber that's 2" thick they make street pads for backhoe stabilizers. But you have to buy a couple of square feet and like anything made of oil, it was really expensive.

I believe that the pad material is a liquid and poured into a mold, not sure where to purchase that material.

Brownells sells pad spacers in various sizes up to 1" thick, they can be glued together. Kickeze has thicker than 1" pads.
