.22 Feed issues

Hello Calgunners, I have an old Revelation model 120. The gun doesn't feed properly. The inner magazine tube has almost no spring tension left. My questions are : do I need to replace the entire inner mag tube or can the spring be replaced? Will a Marlin Mdl 60 tube work? Where should I look for the part? Thanks guys

Mike, thanks for the link. I just checked the site for the mag tube and they do not list one for the mdl 120. After doing a little more research, it seems that the mdl 120 may be a Marlin mdl 99 or mdl 60. Maybe I can find the mag tube listed under one of those models?

Brownells has generic replacement parts for rimfire tube mags. Tubes (inner and outer), springs, followers, kits. etc.

I still cannot determine if its a re branded model 60 or a 99. I would like to find a definitive answer. I'm thinking model 99.

good resource thanks...after looking at the design of the mag tube it looks like it may difficult to disassemble. Might be worth a try though...

I really hope this is the case because model 60 parts seem to be more prevalent these days. I've read of a feed throat upgrade that may be necessary to correct feed issues with these guns as well. I sure hope this isn't the issue with mine.

It might depend of what year yours was made if it's a 99 or 60.

Rats! Maybe the 99 was close enough to the first model 60 to have the same parts..

Got'er runnin fine!!

I took the old rifle out just to observe the malfunction 1 more time and document things in more detail. It so happens that the gun would fire, cycle the next round, but then fail to cock the hammer for a follow up. Right away I assumed that there must be a problem with either the hammer spring (if that's what it's called LOL) or the recoil spring. After inspecting everything and comparing the recoil spring, and guide rod with that of a 795, I noticed that the spring and guide rod in the Revelation 120 were much longer. For kicks I installed the 795 recoil spring and guide rod into the 120. Low and behold she runs great. Not hitch. After putting th 795 back together with it's own parts, I began to modify parts for the 120. Thankfully I had a new recoil spring on hand for a model 60. I trimmed it to match the spring in the 795. Next the guide rod needed to be shaved a little at the receiver end (not the bolt and spring end). I reassembled everything and test fired. Shoots like a dream
