Trouble threading muzzle device onto AK barrel..

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have a Romanian 7.62x39 barrel and have tried putting on two different slant breaks, neither of which seem to be able to catch threads. Am I just an idiot and they are reverse threaded or something? The threading on the end of the barrel looks very slightly damaged but not enough to prevent it from catching at all. Any thoughts?

got that. it actually needed the threads chased. problem solved. build complete.
