Make sure you keep it Legal as in 16" overall, or whatever length with permanently attached Brake/Hider/Comp. adding up to 16" I`d recommend you seek a Professional to do this & figure out EXACTLY what you intend to do regarding Features. AR15Barrels or another Vendor on CG can help you. If your not happy with who`s here, I can suggest more Vendors.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

Yes there is a very specific way of doing it if you want to keep it accurate.

Dallas Shooting Supplies in Texas, http://www.dallasshootingsupplies.com/ about $65 to cut, crown, and rethread.
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.

I charge $45 to shorten an AR barrel, thread, crown and open the gas port if needed.
$25 to permanent attach a muzzle device.
I'm in Los Angeles and do the work while-u-wait for customers with walk-in appointments.

If you are in California, AR15Barrels is your best option.

I got to see both AR15barrels and ADCO work and AR15barrels work is much cleaner. Randall does great job.
