Turkish Mauser Disassembly

I need a little info on this one

I've got everything apart but This :::::::
How does on remove the front band on a Turkish Mauser, it is the one near the muzzel with the bayonet lug, not the one with the sling ferrle. There doesn't appear to be any screws or pins..

I am not by my rifle, but there is a spring on the underside (or side?) that you depress and then gently lever it off with something softer than the stock wood. I think.

I got the spring loaded one off / No Problem

The one I'm having trouble is the band at the End...( nearest Barrel end )of the wood
Everything else is apart

Press bottom front metal band ( 1/2"wide by 3" long) just behind front band and push front band off with wood/leather mallet

I had to a 4 inch " C" clamp and two small sticks ? so I would'nt mar anything

The baked on cosmo was holding everything tight
and the dang thing came right off !!
