    Mauser front sight replacement ?

Picked up a beautiful 24/47 last night.
One issue, the front sight is toast, no idea what happened here
So can this be repaired, I am thinking the whole sight and base needs replaced.
Where would I get a complete front sight.
Anyway to replace it without ruining the blueing, I am thinking these are pressed or silver soldered on

Looks like the sight is comming off the band. I'd try to fix what you have. Unsolder the sight clean and replace. And no there's really no way to yes around damaging the bluing even with heat stop paste. It just depend on how damaged the bluing will be when you are done.

If that doesn't work you can find a surplus sight. Remove the existing sight and install the new one. Be sure the are the same height.
