Saiga conversion fitting problem

Has anyone had to file down their gas tubes or handguard retainers to allow your gas tube lever to close? Where is the best place to file?

I started with the lower handguard retainer, then did a little of the gas tube, but it still seems that the foremost part o the handguards is whats keeping my gas tube from seating properly.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Well i ended up filing the little stepped up piece off the lower handguard retainer, and that seemed to do the trick. Everything is ready to rock!

Cant wait to go out and blow something up!



Pistol grip is not connected, waiting for my grip wrap to arrive. Just mocked it up to see what it would look like.
