    Savage Model 99 Problem

Hey guys. I have a Model 99 that a local shop cleaned for me when I first inherited it (last year) and ever since then, the automatic cut-off will stick out just a hair too far and jam against the receiver to where the bolt won't close. Normally, the cut-off would not pop out far enough to touch the receiver and subsequently get caught, so the bolt would just push it back in. When it gets caught, if I just tap it with my finger, it will become unstuck and work as normal until it catches again.

    Part 19 here:

Any ideas what might be causing this? All there is to it is the cut-off and the cut-off spring. Perhaps the spring was put it backwards/upside-down, if that's possible?

I'd pull it out and inspect for burrs or damage. See if it will fully seat with out the spring. The spring might be kinked causing a problem.

I'll have to find a guide on how to take it apart first. Once I do, I'll break it down and check.
