    Reinforcing lower at buffer retainer?

I had a failure to fire at the range and saw that the bolt was not closing so I tried to remove the upper but it was stuck. I eventually removed it to find that the buffer retainer came out and bent the spring. I then looked at the lower and noticed that the wall was really thin and slightly bent out.

I was wondering if there was a way to reinforce the area shown below so this wont happen again or should I just toss the lower. Any suggestions or recommended gunsmiths in the LA/OC area are appreciated.

the lower is fine with your bump. you just need to install everything properly- it looks like you didn't have the receiver extension (buffer tube) threaded in far enough

Thread your buffer tube in more. the tube should block the larger part of the pin and hold it in place with or with out the buffer.looks like when you fired it the hole thing came up not just the small pin.
