    S&W 500 problems

Long story short; I was at the range and shot a couple buffalo bore rounds that made the other ammo jump the crimp. Spilled powder all over the place and lodged the bullets in their respective chambers.

Bullets were easy to get out, but now the cyclinder wouldnt close all the way. I was about to send it into smith and wesson when i read on the internet to check under the extractor star for powder. Thank god i read this, i cleaned it and now it closes, only the cylinder is dragging really bad. I mean really bad.

It must take like 35 pounds to pull the trigger and andvance the action. Any advice on how to clean this thing and get the little peices of powder out? Any idea on WHERE specifically to clean?

Should i take off the side plate or will i mess something up?

    Powder in the internals..

Don't open it unless you know what you are doing with the proper tools..

Other wise...strip it down, clean and lube

          Well.

You can always take off the grips and hit all the
openings with a spray can gun cleaner.

          Follow up with lube.

You already cleaned under the extractor.

Worse case....Gunsmith for a detail strip clean

            - Open the cylinder.
            - Hold the thumbpiece to the rear.
            - Pull the trigger.

~ If the trigger pulls easily...then the problem is in the cylinder/barrel.
~ If the trigger pulls hard...then the problem is in the action.
