DIY SLING HELP!

I was going to make my own sling but the hardware store I'm at only has 2" nylon webbing. It seems a little overkill. I been to a bunch of places and can't find 1.5" nylon webbing in anything but red and blue. Any suggestions???

Alot of surplus stores sell bulk webbing. I would check the ones around you to see if they have any.

Joann's has 1.5" black webbing. Not that I've ever been to a Joann's. I mean, c'mon, I'm a guy, why would I go to Joann's. Look, stop grilling me, okay I admit it, I've been to a Joann's, once. Fine, I go to Joann's a lot, you got me.

Walmart has REALLY good 1 1/2" webbing with quick release belt buckle snaps for $2!

Maybe it was $3, but it is really cheap, in 6 FOOT length with figure-8 adjuster thingy included.

THESE MAKE AWESOME BELTS, AS IS....once you shorten the 72" to your size.....great for gunbelt holster belts!

Also, since they come in 72" you can have most of the belt 'doubled up' for various reasons, and install extra 'keepers' etc, etc.


WHILE YOU ARE DOWN THERE....stock up on their 1" straps with belt clip releases and their 2" with snap clips for shoulder strap for 5 gal bucket.

All this great stuff is super cheap!

I've gone to pretty much only using the 1" for belts for jeans, and I'm working on making a shoulder holster.

I'm also of a fan of the $12 Blackhawk soft nylon holsters....they just seem to work better than others at 3X or more the price.


The straps are in the camping/outdoor section.

I went to Joanns yesterday they only had 1" nylon webbing.

I don't know I may just give in and buy a sling. Frustrated.
