I have been asked to reload rifle blanks for a WWII Re-enactor.

How do I get the Star Crimp in the rifle blanks, or is there another way to close the case mouth?

You realize Blank ammo is readily available for most common loads

I use these and it's a one die set for nearly all cals.

The other thing is where are you going to get blank brass?? The cases used for blanks are longer for a bolt action or autoloader to help guide the shell into the chamber. Those are special cases and not easy to find.

Prvi Partizan sells blank brass as well as loaded blanks... not sure what calibers they stock but they sell them in the US.

9mm & 38 Super use 223 cut down.
45 ACP use 308 or 30-06 cut down.
Revolvers are the easiest to do.
For rifle I use standard 308 or 30-06 and they seem to feed fine.
For Auto's you will not get them to cycle unless you modify the gun but then you wont be able to use regular ammo if you go that route anyway.
The movie guns are heavily modified to function in auto or full auto mode.
Also you will have to put something over the powder charge or the crimp to seal it to get a proper "Bang".I've had unburnt powder(Heaps of it ) if I didn't seal the case.Glue Gun works well over the crimp.
One other thing, The cases are only one time use.
