    Sterling and sten build help

Can anyone help me with my sterlings? I have 2 and would drive far to get help. Im dying to get these done. Also have a sten but since everything is available aftermarket I wouldnt wanna ask. However if someone happems to be a sten guy Id love the help I cant afford to buy the $400 in sten Semi parts right now. I know friends with mills but none are builders and the best one is afraid of homebuilt guns. If anyone could help even if it bits and pieces here and there Id appreciate it.
Compensation is available. I can also bring everything to build an ak. Even parkerizing tanks. None of my tools are home made, spot weld, have a jig to dome insides of rivets if you have a nice kit.

Ive read sterling tutorials more then prolly anyone lol, but without the tooling and knowing how to use them I have pipe dreams. lol. For the sterling Im hung up on the bolt mods and the 2 spring cups. Also getting the trunnions and rear cup lock off old receiver. If it matters Im willing to use any receiver material and would like the tubes to be as long as the barrel.

you can buy the bolt from Apex. it has the slot the the spring cup installed already. then you just need the firing pin. Depending on the barrel you will need a trunnion and the piece that welds to the front stub on the inside.

I know a few mill guys I wrote all the dimensions down Ima see what I can get done tomorrow. Ima buy the firing pin. Try to fab the bolt insert and if the guys feel like saving me $60 maybe make the spring cups. 2 kits so everythings double.

Bplvr and former Calgunner pullnshoot25 wrote this article on Sten building. This is the second part but there is a link to the first part in the first sentence.

Save your money and get the Indianapolis Ordnance semi kit.

It works, doesn't eat springs, and wona't leave you guessing and experimenting.

You still need access to a welder to complete it, but cutting out the semi tube is not difficult. Best done with a mill, but doable with a dremel or even a drill press and files.
The semi tubes are much thicker than the originals, so they're harder to complete.

Mk2S built from an IO kit
16" IO barrel in a custom shroud. I welded a barrel nut on some 1.5" tube and a washer on the other end. Opened up the washer for the barrel, and welded the barrel to the barrel nut. Shot the whole thing in duracoat black oxide.

Super easy if you buy the kit.
