removing grip screws

I've always heard that you clamp the bushing in a vice or in vice grips and with the right size screw driver use short kind of jerking motions to get the screw loose. Other than trying that I don't know. -
OP removed the grip.
The bushing unscrewed from the frame, instead of the grip screw unscrewing from the bushing.
OP now has the grip with the screw and bushing removed from the frame.
Lobstradamus got it right.
Correct bushing installation requires the part to be staked after installation into the frame...a conical tool expands the frame side of the bushing against the frame. That way, it takes more torque to remove the bushing v. the grip screw and the bushing stays in the frame.
Try a little penetrating oil on the bushing overnight.
Stake the bushing when it's reinstalled.

re-install the bushing into the frame along with the screw and grip.
Lightly stake the bushing into the frame from the other side.
Unscrew the screw.
Re-tighten the bushing into the frame.
Finish staking the bushing into the frame.Randall Rausch
